Sustainable Brand of the Week - Tentree

Updated: May 24, 2020

Tentree

Tentree believe that all humans have a responsibility to protect and preserve the environment we live in. Their first-earth apparel celebrates its commitment to the environment through their sustainable, organic, ethically made garments for both men and women that are highly fashionable. Further, for every item purchased, Tentree will plant ten trees, living out their moto “buy one, plant ten”. It's practices like these that make Tentree a brand we can't look past.

Materials

Tentree are fully committed to using eco-friendly materials to make their clothes. Materials including tencel, organic cotton and hemp. The most notable material is recycled polyester, which is actual the product of discarded plastic bottles from landfill, giving new life in your wardrobe and saving the soil from landfill.

We create aspirational outside products. For those who identify with the outdoors, but are not defined by them. We motivate and encourage environmental stewardship through earth-first apparel.

Planting Projects

Tentree currently have 9 different planting sites around the world, from Indonesia to Mexico to Canada, Tentree have to date planted 42,670,466 trees and have the aim of planting 1 billion trees by 2030. Its this commitment to the environment and unwavering pursuit of environmental sustainability that has earned Tentree the sustainable brand of the week.

The eco-log system

Tentree in working with environmental group “GreenStep” have developed a algorithmic-like system that compares the carbon footprint of Tentree production with the benefits of business initiatives such as the “buy one, plant ten”, which ultimately outweighs the negatives of the Tentree's mild carbon footprint, leaving the environment better than they’ve found it.
